Well we made it back alive. We didn't have internet at The inn we stayed at on the island and my iPhone wouldn't let me type in compose box so this blog is a little post coital. Here is a link to all the photos:

Home Alone

So yesterday I only worked one of the night scenes which was at this 1670's fort. If we went over an hour they charged us for the next hour. The goal, the producers told me, was that our only option was to not go over. So over course we go an hour over and dangerously close to three. As we were wrapping our lead actor had it out with our director pretty much within earshot of everyone. I lost count of how many F-bombs the actor said. The director charged him with not trusting him. The actor mentioned loud enough that he came down for no money. I have been hearing that our actor has been being a colossal A-hole to some of the girls on the picture, but he was nice enough to me, Vinnie agrees with me here. So this morning Metcalf got today's sides with a note saying "Tate rewrote the ending, here are your new pages".

I'm still out today, getting better though. Everyone is supposed to be off tomorrow which will be good for everyone: me so I can be hopefully 60-80% Monday. And for everyone else who have been working straight since January 2nd.

The Deadly Motaba Virus

Ok so I don't have motaba, but I do have bronchitis. I went to a walk in clinic today and for under $50 dollars I got an office visit and a wicked drug cocktail.

The producers hired two new craft service broads after sending the vile cunt who was craft service back on a plane to MKE. They're pretty awesome and making some rad shit. The main lady made us dutch apple pie from scratch last night. They're making all kinds of crazy shit like shepherd's pie and lettuce rolls. A masseuse was also hired to service the cast and crew. I know the good life right? Not so much. Now don't get me wrong these people are nice as can be and very concerned about me getting better, but knowing what is needed in terms of hiring, they're a little off. After today it's Vinnie, Krieger, and me if I'm not down again. I'm sure they could easily find some grips or p.a.'s on craigslist that will work for experience but that doesn't seem to be the most important thing. One lady's job is to entertain Metcalf's kid all day(and to make sure he gets his daily cheeseburger).

A couple things I forgot to mention: Vinnie coined the term "bad boot" whenever the RED doesn't boot correctly. Also, Vinnie has been taking a minimum of two showers per day and announcing to everyone whenever it is a "3" shower day. Mike's been busting his ass. Whoever is making call sheets finally seems to have figured out that we go over every estimated time allotted so they're trying to adjust for it. We've had one 10 hour day, 18 being the average. Tate promised to try to keep turnaround to a 10 hour minimum. The first few days he seemed to be on edge and close to losing it. He seemed more confident yesterday though. Over the last few days Vinnie has been obsessed with showing us the Brando black dick sucking photo and I'm pretty Krieger has been scarred for life....

I'm gonna pass out now, the antibiotics are making me a little lucid.

Trends

Vinnie gave me the first shoot today off to sleep in. I feel much better, probably around 60% compared to 10%. I wish I had more time to recuperate but I have to get back in there since after tomorrow Vinnie, Krieger and myself are the crew.

I've noticed a few trends that I failed to mention in earlier posts.
1. They wash our towels every two days and then we can't find them.
2. When we go over shooting the final scene of the day they move the call time to earlier in the morning,
3. Rehearsals are done pretty much exclusively on camera.

Tu Madre

So I'll pick up where I left off yesterday. We tried to do this scene in a public bathroom right by our beach house but got shut down by the police from lack of permit. We tore all the gear down and went to eat dinner.

We did the camera mount stuff yesterday and were supposed to get done at 10pm. But, we were driving the grip van back at about 12:15am. Everything seems to be taking way longer then what is estimated on the call sheets, this is probably due to not having an AD. Before we left we got a call sheet for the next day and call time was 9am. Okay not bad since we're supposed to be done at 10pm but we went over 2 hours. After the carmount stuff I drop Vinnie and Krieger off to do a bridge shot. I actually fell asleep waiting for them. Also, our grip van's battery is toast so I can't turn the van off. Upon returning to a quiet house I noticed some call sheets on the table and looked at them. Our call time had moved up to 7:30am. Vinnie quickly tells me to get upstairs and to forget we saw that. At this point I am totally wiped out.

I am woken up by people telling us we gotta be ready to go soon. Vinnie announces to us don't worry about it and that he'll take care of it. He returns and the call time is moved back up to the original 9am. The director comes up and tells us that we should go and get the bathroom scene ready and after that we'll go eat breakfast and have some more time to relax, because he'll just shoot the scene. We get back to the beach house and I feel like I am going to fall over. So Vinnie gives me the day off, so I'm basically eating 35 oranges and sleeping all day.

When I wake up in the afternoon I still feel really depleted and weak. I hear rumors that the craft service girl is getting fired and flying back today. Apparently she's been a total cunt to all the other ladies here and not doing her job. Vinnie told me she also walked into a shot this morning trying to take a picture of Mark Metcalf.

Hopefully I will be back in the game tomorrow. I think there is a very real chance that we won't finish this thing. Also, all the girls have been taking care of me and being really nice.

Heart of Darkness

I finally have a chance to blog. Due to not having internet here and then being sick I haven't had a chance to blog. Well I went in to this thinking it was going to be pretty much like Apocalypse Now and it definitely is. As soon as we left the Jacksonville airport we were on our way directly to the shoot. After an hour of shooting B roll the director wants me to go get a shiny board from the truck. Problem is, the truck hasn't been emptied or organized yet, so after I pull everything out to get the boards I have no way of getting shit back in so I am forced to sit and babysit gear for an hour and a half.

We then get to our new home. A fabulous beach house. With Vinnie, Krieger, the grip (Pat), and myself having the attic to ourselves. We unpack out personal stuff, unload the truck and are off to shoot night exteriors until 12am, luckily we're right out back of the house. With hearing murmurs of a 6:30am shoot we re-iterated to the director that he said he didn't want to burn us out the first day , so that shoot was postponed.

The following day we drove down to Daytona Beach to shoot scenes there all day. We two hours over and there was a lot of "making up scenes" as we went along. There seems to be no rehearsal for actors, well on camera rehearsals. We wrapped at about 7pm. We got there at  9am.

Yesterday we drove down to Daytona beach again to shoot a drive-in church, for an atheist it was moderately freaky. We then caravanned to find a Starbucks but ultimately settled on an IHOP. Then a scene was cut because the director didn't like the next location. We then were off to do cab stuff at the airport all in caravan mode. After a long day I am now sick. We had lasagna for dinner and right after that I passed out. The sunrise shoot was rescheduled for this morning but Vinnie decided I could sleep in because they didn't need me.

Today, we shot the drugstore scene which was 86'd yesterday. They're off shooting B-roll. Once they get back we're shooting in a bathroom, then a shower, and then  more beach stuff.

The "your mom" jokes are getting more prevalent and funnier. I am not sunburned at all. The food has been good except for yesterday which was "pack your own lunch day" which I didn't eat lunch.  Vinnie's been teaching us the card game "oh shit" which is kind of like euchre so I'm familiar with it.

More later...
